iPhone not blocking calls/emails/voicemails after iOS 26.4

Yes I agree that an update to ios26.4.1 is the solution for these latest posts.

The block function worked fine for me running 26.4.1 but has failed since I updated to 26.4.2 this morning. iPhone 17 Pro Max.

No it is not fixed. I mark them as blocked in my junk mail folder and when they move to trash the block is gone and it is not blocked

It is not fixed. If you block any email contacts and then delete them to the trash folder, they are once again unblocked

Now it tells you you have reached the blocked contact limit. How about telling us what the limit is and give us a way to delete batches instead of one at a time. I have over 11,000 blocked contacts

keeps showing me notifications for these blocked mails AND it keeps showing in the Main Page… (I know it has an option to put automatically on trash and it’s there, don’t need to try to solve it with settings. It’s an IOS bug.)

I have an iPhone 14 Pro, running 26.4.

Same issue as well: calls & voicemail numbers cannot be blocked, even AFTER selecting them to block.

Question: is there a limit to the number of phone numbers that can be blocked?

If I clear out my current list of blocked numbers, will that solve the issue?

Of course, it could all re-occur in a period of time as well.

I have used every method of blocking in Messages, Mail, Phone, & Blocked Contact list under Privacy & Settings preferences. That last is the master list of blocked contacts. Viewing blocked contacts in Message, Mail & Phone apps are simply 3 other ways to access the same list.

Someone posted that 26.4.1 resolved the issue on their iPhone, so I installed this update. I have an iPhone 13 Pro and it DID NOT resolve this issue.

un-restrained messaging whether it be telephone, text or email is way too lucrative to allow users to block it. That would be my guess with midterm elections on the horizon.

I had updated to 26.4.1 a few days ago when it was available and NO, it DID NOT fix the BLOCK CONTACT/ SPAM EMAILS problem. I rebooted when it had finished and nothing had been fixed and it’s still not working today.

Are you sure you've updated? iOS 26.4.1 was released yesterday.

Blocking spam texts is kind of pointless. The number that the message appears to come from is not the number it actually comes from. And those numbers change more often than you change your underpants.

It's true that spamming entities use numerous numbers & email addresses to send texts, emails, & calls. There's no stopping spam in general. Blocking them as they're received does help because no more messages get through from those numbers/addresses. I'm getting more spam now because multiple, subsequent messages are getting through from those that would have blocked if blocking contacts was working.

Same here… the only thing now helping me block daily spam is my MacBook Pro’s Mail App, which eliminates multiple & repeated spam by filtering them using Rules (address begins with/ends with/contains)

Just got a new iPhone 17e about a month ago. Not even a week I had a fully functioning phone. This started quickly and after 2 recent updates, the problems persists, still unable to block junk emails or people in any of my email accounts as well as the tons of spam calls I get daily. Why is this not getting fixed after a month? Very Disappointing Apple
