iPhone not blocking calls/emails/voicemails after iOS 26.4

I didn’t have any issues with blocking until updated to 26.4.2. Now cannot block emails, etc. Not a good thing when I get 50+ spam/unwanted per day. Nothing I have tried works. The block shows as an option, but selecting it does not block. It shows up as an option every time. This is now an issue

It’s unlikely this blocking issue will be resolved with any updates. I bought a new phone 17 Pro Max and was able to block numbers fine until I restored my previous phone to the new one thevissue followed With the Restore. It’s likely a corruption of some sort or another of the database and there is no interest in resolving it for the few thousand people having the issue. That’s a pretty small number in relation. But you all will be pleased to know that those rainbow colored backgrounds are working awesome!

Here we are over TWO MONTHS and STILL no fix after even the 26.5 update? Why is this not being taken serious and no updates from the company updating us on anything. Should be giving some discount by now with brand New, yet non fully functional phone.

26.5 does now allow me to mark calls as blocked. It does allow me to block emails in the inbox but when moving it to the trash, it doesn’t hold the block and does not hold the unread. I am then allowed to mark emails as unread again and block again. I don’t know if it holds the block on future incoming emails.

They may be all well and good but I still want the capability put back the problem with Apple owning the universe is they stopped listening to their customers my phone is paid for lock stock and barrel I am two steps away from going Android google chrome after 20 years of loyalty

I'm sorry but I have no idea what you're trying to say. Apple is not in control of the people sending spam messages (on any system). They don't have the ability to prevent people from spoofing numbers or email addresses.

Furthermore, since Apple doesn't read here for feedback or suggestions, they are not going to see that you have intentions of moving to another platform.

WOAH! Can you cite anything specific you did to the phone?

And the blocking IS now working?

Please provide feedback; I would doubt of a restart alone triggered this.

P.S., this is not an insult, rather a simple request. Sometimes people just do something "odd" and...boom!..it works!

This is my experience, too. The circle with the slash does appear, but if you give it time, the icon goes away. Very strange … I wish they would get this figured out already! NOTE: running 26.5 on an iPhone 16 pro and iPad Pro 12.9” 6th generation.

There’s at least a glimmer of hope after the 26.5 update, now that the blocked 🚫 icon, & the “Unblock this Contact” menu item can be visible, if only for a short while before disappearing again.

Clearly some work is being done in the background!

That update did not resolve the issue for me. I have even "blocked" senders, had the red circle appear and before I got through the entire list of Junk mail the icon disappeared. Come on Apple - fix this annoying issue!

Hello I am having the same issue, I block a number and it doesn’t block it. They continue calling from same numbers that I previously blocked. I go back to the Block function and it is not blocked. I click Block Contact again but still doesn’t block the number. It’s driving me nuts with spam calls. I am on 26.5.1 update. Please fix or tell me how to fix.

I have an iPhone 14 with IOS of 26.5. I could block numbers until about a week ago. Now I can’t block calls, auto filter spam calls out or filter out unknown calls, even with my settings set to filter out spams & unknown callers. I have restarted my phone many times with no success.

I have also virus scanned, adware scanned and malware scanned my phone several times but none of my settings are working as I set them up.

I hope there is a fix out there as right now I don’t feel like my phone is secure anymore.

any update please anyone got ?

getting sick and tired of unwanted callers of marketing calling again and again ! earlier we could simply block , but now we cannot and i think the marketerers realized it and now are bombarding with double power and vigorous calling .

I wanna know why I just can’t block a contact like I did before. I’m not texting Abby. I don’t have time to be gone and figuring all this out and turn it on and off and all that I just want to be able to hit blocked number and delete it and it be done so what are my options now because I keep getting all these Roto dial and spam calls and I’m over it

I have iOS 26.5 and suddenly today when I try to block a phone number of a text that I received it didn’t work. What I do is I click on the phone number and scroll down to block contact when I click on it. The next pop-up opens up and I click on that, but it is not showing the number is blocked I tried it on several different numbers and I’m getting the same results.
