iPhone not blocking calls/emails/voicemails after iOS 26.4

You do understand that most spammers spoof numbers and change them more often than you blink? Blocking them is largely pointless.

I have the same issue with my iPhone 14 pro. I don’t really want to reset the phone and unblock the over 4,000 numbers and emails that I blocked for a reason just to make room for more. There has to be a better solution.

I agree with you that there should be a better way, but really deleting all your blocked numbers is not as bad as it sounds. Most of those blocked numbers and emails have been retired by now. I deleted at least 4000 and have not noticed any increase in spam. I still get spam but not any more than usual.

I have the iPhone 13 Pro Max series and just did the update right now of 26.5.2 - for the past several weeks I have not been able to block phone calls or emails and I was hoping this update would fix it, but it has not. I have tried to reset my phone. I’m not interested in taking numbers and manually having to enter them, I should be able to just go into that call or email and block it. Please advise as to next steps.

APPLE needs to hire you!! I asked a dumb question this past week of how to add a number to an already blocked number BUT I didn't realize you could add a TON of numbers to the same contact. I thought you were only allowed maybe a cell, landline and one other. SO.... I took your advice, and started adding a boatload of spam numbers to one of my blocked spam numbers and have about 50 blocked numbers on one spam contact. THANK YOU!!!!!!! It DOES WORK : ) btw I'm FLAGIRLFROMCALI in case anyone sees my stupid question.

When is Apple going to restore everyone’s phone with our “Block” service again! This is a security issue for me and also to block all the unwanted politcal and spam calls/texts we get everyday - 100’s of them.

Blocking such things actually accomplishes very little as 1)political messages may be protected and 2)actual spammers change their spoofed numbers regularly.

Great to hear! That is the recommended approach and where others have found success. Blocking works for me and I am on 26.6 with only about 10 blocked contacts. Thanks for the update.

At this point, I would recommend users who have not found success to create a new post, since this thread is 4 months old with a completely different iOS version. That way you can post screenshots of what you are seeing and have support for your individual case instead of just a me too post on another thread.

Not true! Every single day, I get at least 100 new e-mails from senders that I have previously blocked, plus maybe 10 or 20 that are not flagged. I don't get notified when I get a blocked phone call or text, so I don't know how many of those are repeats.

I have 1700 blocked contacts and although I ban block them the blocked emails still end up in my inbox.

Have to manually delete them.

This is really annoying and completely defeats the purpose of blocking.

I setup “Blocked 1” in my contacts and will add spam numbers to that blocked contact until I max it out (500 numbers per contact). I’ll create new “Blocked #” contacts when I fill the first one up. It’s not perfect but it bypasses any stupid limits Apple has come up with for blocking spammers.

At the risk of being naive, it seems that a new "folder" will need to be created?

Can someone provide assistance as how to do this?

Will this new "folder" be applicable to BOTH my MBP and iPhone?

Removed over 100 blocked contacts in settings and still unable to block anyone.

also, to mark the number as junk, you have to unblock it, then report it. So much work.
