iPhone XR: iOS 18.7.7 re-prompt, "Verification Failed

iPhone XR, updated to 18.7.7 after March 25, but now Settings say 18.7.7 is available again. Attempting to install results in "Verification Failed". It appears that enabling IOS 18.7.7 for more phones actually encompasses enabling it for phones that already have the update resulting in the user being prompted to reinstall 18.7.7 again. Is the "Verification Failed" outcome the result of Apple having pulled the update for those phones and the update just not having disappeared yet?

Tried again 3rd April and Verify now working and installation completed so Apple must have posted a signed update

it's 18.7.7 again not 18.7.8 thus why keep trying? Thanks God verification has failed.

You are aware that an installation will fail when the battery is in Low Power Mode.....correct?

Tap Settings > General > iPhone Storage

If you see an iOS update there.....delete it

Restart your iPhone and try the iOS 18.7.7 update again

If still no luck.....you will need to get with Apple Support.......Support

iOS 18.7.7 failed on my wife's XR yesterday with verification issue; it re-downloaded again today and failed with the same issue so unfortunately the April Fool's "signing" joke still persists as it's now gone past 00:01 on 2nd April US West Coast time

Actually, it was relevant. If you read my previous post here, it was a larger issue that was also affecting iPhone XR on iOS 18.7.6 (22H320).

Yes it's normal, today Apple released a new build of iOS 18.7.7 22H340 but you forgot that it was April fools ! This build is not signed anymore so you won't be able to install it !

I have 18.7.7 22H333 installed currently. So I guess the 18.7.7 22H340 is what I was notified to install that ended in verification failure. Something is changing. The notification screen reminder to update is gone, and it's gone from the top when you first open Settings, but Settings->General still shows the software update available and asks to Install now or Install Tonight. So if you are saying it is unsigned (I don't know if that means pulled in Apple-speak), then am I supposed to NOT install it and just ignore it?

Or, does 22H340 provide additional protections for DarkSword not included in 22H333? That's the point I'm confused about. Why two separate build numbers and will the 22H340 ultimately be signed so it can be installed?

I have the same problem. I have an iPhone XS. In the settings on my iPhone it says that iOS version 18.7.7 is installed. The iOS 18.7.7 update installation repeatedly failed. Every time I get the error message "Unable to Verify Update - iOS 18.7.7 is temporarily unavailable. Try again later."

Installing the update via my iMac (2019, Sequoia 15.7.5) also repeatedly failed. I get the error message "The iPhone could not be updated. Declined to authorize this image on this device for this user."

Thanks for the confirmation, aside from this 'iOS 18.7.7' update..

I'd had other issues for a few hours with my XR iPhone. Seems

to work better after threats of solid blows-with-hammer made

it 'think differently.' Now I can get a second same-name update.

Checked, after my XR chose to function: it let me finish, & send text.

This newest bit said to be about 300k is small, and gave no warning.

(NOW: it says same dysfunctional BS others see now! at 1012PM AKDT)

Said: its still pondering exact size update; and sorting stuff in the XR?

Like a non-gambler casino-card dealer. He knows; we hafta guess!🙃

I'm having the same issue, but with an iPhone XR on iOS 18.7.6 (22H320). Day 2 now and I can't install iOS 18.7.7 as it fails with message, "Unable to Verify Update. iOS 18.7.7 is temporary unavailable. Try again later."

Has anybody been able to successfully install this 18.7.7 22H340 update ? I'm getting the same error as everyone else here

Ive hard reset the phone, re-downloaded the update (tried over 4G and Wifi) and same error whenever it tries to verify the update.

Fix this Apple ! (please)

I’ve tried this numerous times but the strange thing is that the phone is already on the ios 18.7.7 already and it’s unable to verify the update on my xr So unless Apple are trying to overwrite it then it’s failing for me

I’ve even tried turning it off and on again but still nothing is getting by to verify this update
