Crop a movie to remove undesired content

Can I crop a portion of a whole movie? I have a 5 minute movie with about 1/4th that has undesired content at the bottom (a table top).

Hi,

MartinR's posts pretty well describe how to crop a clip.

Basically, you crop the clip in the project browser screen using the following Apple Help instructions

:

So, after you insert your clip into iMovie, it will appear in the Project Media Browser Screen that you see when you click on the project's name under the Project Media heading at the top of the left sidebar. In the project Browser screen select the project's icon and do an Edit/Duplicate. A duplicate icon will appear. Do your cropping with the duplicate so as to preserve your original work.

Select the duplicate icon and then click on the crop tool icon in the toolbar at the top of your project screen.

Here are some screen shots that I took showing the process:

A "movie" could actually consist of a single clip that is 4 minutes long ... or it could be made up of 2 or more clips. How many clips make up your 4-minute movie?

If there are multiple clips, you can crop multiple clips at the same time. Select all the clips together then apply the crop; the same crop will be appled to all the selected clips.
