iPhone Private Relay unavailable, System Status functional

My iPhone displayed an iCloud notification that “private relay is temporarily unavailable due to a technical problem" but clicking through to system status shows it is functional.

I don’t have a VPN and it’s set to on in system settings. What else can I check to resolve this?
