Books app has no Trash ?
Without a trash you cannot retrieve a book that you deleted by accident, unless the book was purchased
This is a big problem with Books app

Books app is hiding where it stores the books
I have organised the books in collections. These are not stored at all in TM
THerefore, it is not possible to restore from TM a specific book from Books app
Besides it is a time consuming process
Finder > Go to Folder... ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.BKAgentService/Data/Documents/iBooks/Books
Books may be in collections but they are stored on your hard drive under Books.
Does not take long at all.
The place you are indicating is now empty
That is perhaps because I moved out all my books from books app, never will use that app again
It is a quick sand. You get entangled and cannot get out
