How do I accept an iCal invitation on iPhone?

iPhone 4

My girlfriend sent me an event invitation from her iCal program on MacBook.
My iPhone received the e-mail with the .ics file attachment. I have tried to click the attachment to accept the invitation, but nothing happens.

Is it possible to accept an iCal event on iPhone? Or must I wait until I go home to do it on my iMac?

So, let me get this straight so I can stop pulling my hair out trying to find out why this isn't working for me with all the mobileme, settings correct on my iPhone 4 with 4.2.
The .pdf iPhone 4 manual shows that accepting an event invitation IS available, but it really isn't just yet? Is that correct?

Also, I haven't figured out how to send invitations via the iPhone calendar yet, but I see some people saying they can, any help there?
