How to permanently remove the Preview app on iMac?
On iMac is there anyway to delete the PREVIEW app which is always intrusive, never helpful, to me?

Preview is the macOS default App for opening PDF's and Images.
Preview User Guide for Mac - Apple Support
It is integrated into the macOS and can not be deleted from your Mac.
If you do not want to use Preview, then you need to select a different App for opening PDF's and Image's.
For a single PDF or Image, Control (right) click on the PDF or Image and select Open With.
For a group of PDF's or Image's, see > Choose an app to open a file on Mac - Apple Support
And I now don't believe a word of this. I not only found an EXACT duplicate image of what you posted here, including where the text in the background window is cut off to the pixel, but it's on a lot of different sites.
Here's one example of your bogus claim, halfway down the page.
Not only that, your image is from iPadOS. You won't see Preview displayed like this on any Mac.
Are the insults of lying, being a troll, directed to me for asking a question about an app that I do not like? If they are directed to me I suggest moving on and skipping my thread and posts. And, if it is to me, do the insults boost your ego or make you feel better about your shortcomings? Geez guys!
You were asked to post a screenshot of what you were seeing. You posted an image you found on the internet that doesn't even come from a Mac.
You expect us to believe you're legit?
Sorry. You blew it.

If the same screenshot image keeps opening when Preview opened...?
with Preview open on the menu bar > select File > Open Recents > click Clear Menu
Another option, is to move that Screenshot to the Trash and then Empty the Trash.
Wow, I am having the same problem with my Mac. I was hoping to find a way to delete Preview so that when I open a picture or a jpeg I just get a picture or a jpeg, not a preview of it. and hoped that someone would answer this other person's question. But so many nasty answers to the other person who asked, what is wrong here? Eventually, I will just wipe my MAC and donate it to a charity or something, I have been using computers since we had to program our own (1970s) because they came with no software, and the programs we had to type on punch cards that said "Do not fold staple or mutilate" so I literally have 50 years experience using various types of computers, but this Apple is constantly doing things that I assume were intended to be helpful that in fact get in the way. Thank you those who insult someone who asks a question. Now I will not bother.
What device are you seeing this on? You've never said.
If it's an iPad you've posted in the iMac section so no wonder we're confused.
If it's an iMac I've been using iMac ever since they've been introduced, nearly 30 years, and I have never see that image that you posted.
So please read the following user tip and restate your question/problem in detail that we can understand: Writing an Effective Apple Support Communities Question - Apple Community

Also when posting large images click on them and drab the upper right hand corner and resize to a more reasonable size like this:

BUT, when Preview is opened in any manner, its icon will show on the Dock while it is running, as will any other app. That doesn't mean it's back on the Dock in a way that you need to remove it. The icon will disappear when you close the app.
If you have System Settings > Desktop & Dock > Show suggested apps in Dock turned on, and run Preview, Preview's icon might appear in the "recent apps" section of the Dock for a while. But as with the icon appearing while the application was open, that wouldn't mean that the icon had returned to the main section of the Dock.
So what app would you like to use then to open PDF files and images?
This screen popping up is what I feel is very annoying !
Sorry, you've been caught in a lie.
Please go be a troll somewhere else.
Remain annoyed or learn to live with it and move on. Only two options.

The screenshot posted isn't even from a Mac. In fact, it's not a screenshot at all.
NO this does not work

Yes it does. You may just be incapable of following instructions. Do you need a video of the process instead?
