Background Sounds stop unexpectedly
Background sounds: Solution to background sounds stopping.
There have been a few threads aboutBackground Sounds (a great feature) stopping or behaving unreliably.
Here's a pretty reliable fix (current for my Sequoia 15.7.5), though not so pretty:
- Find the sound files either in (for example, the "Ocean" sound files):
- /System/Library/AssetsV2/com_apple_MobileAsset_ComfortSoundsAssets/b03f75835edaddae9d6f56056b9cf557e9516905.asset/AssetData
or hunt around in /System/Library/AssetsV2/com_apple_MobileAsset_ComfortSoundsAssets/ for the AssetData folder corresponding to the sounds you want.
JFYI, there are about 12 sound files for each Background Sound.
Then, copy the files to a convenient folder and import them into Music.app.
In the MacOS Music application, make a new playlist and fill it with your imported files.
Select the appropriately named playlist, and put it on repeat (one red dot under the arrows near the play buttons @ upper left).
Hit "Play" and you'll get your background sounds uninterrupted until you turn them off. They should play continuously without the need for crossfading, but experiment if they don't.
Hope it works for you!
