I'm not sure that you can do the migration over a cable, as you are demanding.

Apple's current instructions for using Migration Assistant don't say much about what cables to use, but they do say this:

Transfer your information to Mac from another computer or device - Apple Support (CA)

"You can transfer information from another disk on your Mac, a disk connected to your Mac, a disk on the same network, or another Mac with OS X 10.8 or earlier connected to your Mac using a Thunderbolt cable.

If you’re using a Thunderbolt cable, connect the cable to the computers, press and hold the T key while restarting the Mac that has the information to transfer, then follow the steps below on the Mac you want to transfer information to."

That "OS X 10.8 or earlier" looks suspiciously like an error to me, since there are only a small number of Macs which both have some form of Thunderbolt, and would be running Mountain Lion or earlier. I suspect that the writers should have written "OS X 10.8 or later", but this is only an educated guess.

Even if we assume that this is an appropriate correction, what they are talking about is putting the old Mac into Target Disk Mode.

Transfer files between two Mac computers using target disk mode - Apple Support (CA)

"Note: If either of the computers has macOS 11 or later installed, you must connect the two computers using a Thunderbolt cable."

macOS 26 is later than macOS 11, which implies that the MacBook Neo can only use another Mac as a Target Disk if there is a Thunderbolt connection. But the MacBook Neo's hardware does not support Thunderbolt. Therefore it is impossible for a MacBook Neo to make a Thunderbolt Target Disk connection to an older Mac, and there is an excellent chance that any attempt to migrate over a cable will fail.
