MacBook Pro MagSafe light green at 80% limit after update
Hello,
I have a MacBook Pro with MagSafe charging, and I noticed a change after the latest macOS update.
I have the charge limit set to 80% in the battery settings. Before the update, when the Mac was connected to the charger, the MagSafe cable light would usually stay orange/amber, even when the battery was limited or below 100%.
Now, when the Mac is at 80% and connected to power, the MagSafe light turns green, even though the battery is not at 100%. In the battery menu, it shows that the Mac is connected to the power adapter and that charging is limited to 80%.
My question is:
With the charge limit set to 80%, is it normal for the MagSafe light to turn green once it reaches that limit, even though the battery is not at 100%?
In other words, does macOS Tahoe 26.5 now consider 80% as “fully charged” because of the charge limit, causing the MagSafe light to turn green?
Thank you for your help
