iPhone 16 Pro Max charges extremely slowly after iOS 26.5 update

Since updating to iOS 26.5 on 13 May, my iPhone 16 Pro Max is charging extremely slowly.

20% to 80% takes around 4–5 hours.

Tested:

• 30W charger

• Belkin 60W USB-C cable

• multiple chargers and cables (same issue)

• wired charging only

• cool AC room environment

• force restart

Battery health: 95%

Problem started exactly after updating. Before that charging speed was normal.

Is anyone else with iPhone 16 Pro Max / iOS 26.5 facing this? Any fix besides full restore?

Search for accessories that have completed MFi certification. Once an accessory has completed MFi certification requirements and is reported to Apple as sold/distributed, it will be searchable in our public database of authorized Lightning, headset, charging, iAP-enabled, and Find My network-enabled accessories.

Learn how to identify counterfeit or uncertified Lightning-based accessories.

If the charging is slow, you’re attributing it to an iOS update, consider this: if the update itself were the cause, then every user who installed that version of iOS would experience the same issue. In that case, the forums would be overflowing with complaints. Since no such widespread reports exist, it strongly suggests that this is not an iOS-level problem but rather a device-specific issue.
