Keynote new version stopped working; I want to uninstall it. I still have the old version. Will files be lost?

I downloaded the new Keynote version on my Mac, and kept the old one. Now the new app isn't working, even though it did initially. If I uninstall my old version and re install it will I lose my files?

Deleting any app doesn't delete its associated files, so the files will still be there.

In the case of Keynote (and other Apple Creator Studio apps including Numbers and Pages), there is no difference in the file format between versions 14 and 15, so all your documents should continue to work in the previous version.

Unless you're pressed for time, it might be worth digging into why the new version isn't working... Keynote 14.5 is designated end-of-life and is not expected to get any further software updates, so you're not likely to be able to rely on it indefinitely.
