Spotlight lagging issues on Tahoe anyone?

Does anyone else experience persistent lag due to corespotlightd process constantly overloading the cpu?

I diabled all spotlight features, added macintoshHD to the exclusion list (and every folder or drive I could add) to no effect, the process is still there even after disabling sp search in terminal and reboot, it keeps burning cpu time.

I am out of options staring at a brand new mac that runs like my granny tied to the stairs :-(
