Mac mini freezing up every few minutes.

I have a Mac mini with an M2 Pro and 16 GB memory. I am running Tahoe 16.5.1. Every few minutes it is freezing up for a minute or two. Sometimes with the spinning beachball. I also receive a problem message. What is going on? It has made my Mac almost unusable and worthless. I have attached a picture of the problem message.

Mac mini, macOS 26.5

The Bluetooth has Crashed 32 times in the last 2½ days.

If you added any new USB drives or devices during that time, remove that device and test.

If you added any new Bluetooth devices during that time, remove that device and test.

Poorly shielded high speed USB cables, drives and other devices can cause Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues.

News Alert !

CleanMyMac aka " BrickMyMac " claims another victim

com.macpaw.CleanMyMac5

Any Third Party Applications that will interfere with the normal operation of the OS,  is an invitation for disaster.

Certain Applications maybe available on the Apple Apps Store - this only means the Developer is prepared to pay Apple a percentage on each sale.

What the Application may do to the computer is up to the User to check this out before purchase

Any of the below should be removed as per Developers Instructions

Disk Cleaner

CleanMyMac , aka “ BrickMyMac “

There are two schools of thought when dealing with CleanMyMac aka “ BrickMyMac

The steps in #1 below is predicated on the Offending  Application has been Removed as per the Developers Specific Instruction

# 1 Some Contributors suggest restarting in Recovery Mode and choosing to Reinstall the Operating System over the existing installation.

This may or may not replace elements of the  Home Folder ( User Account )  and replace any corrupted or removed elements and make things right.

Notation, the computer will not work properly again unless they start over from scratch ie Erase All Contents and Setting

#2 - Then there are Other Contributors ( like myself ) would suggest  from this link Use Disk Utility to erase a Mac with Apple silicon.

Use the Erase All Content and Settings feature to quickly and securely erase all settings, data, and apps, while maintaining the operating system currently installed.

If going this route - I suggest Not using Startup Assist to migrate everything back.

This will probably Re-Introduce ( any questionable Third Party Software ) back into the Operating System .

One last thought for considerations ? 👍

LogitechHIDDevices.kext — com.Logitech.ControlCenter.HIDDriver version 3.9.14

LogitechUnifying.kext — com.Logitech.Unifying.HIDDriver version 3.9.0 (not currently loaded)

They are very old

Both were built against the macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) SDK, which dates back to 2017.

These drivers came from older versions of Logitech Control Center (LCC).

Potential compatibility issues

On modern macOS versions (especially Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura, Sonoma, and later), Logitech generally recommends Logi Options+ or newer software instead of these legacy kernel extensions.

Old kexts can sometimes contribute to startup delays, input-device issues, security warnings, or system instability.

"Not Loaded" is usually good

The LogitechUnifying.kext entry shows [Not Loaded], meaning it isn't actively running.

It may simply be leftover software from a previous Logitech installation.

If you're troubleshooting crashes, kernel panics, or performance issues

Check whether you still use Logitech devices that depend on the old Logitech Control Center software.

If not, uninstall the legacy Logitech software and install the current Logitech software if needed.

The damages it ( CMM ) may have already done to the User Account ( Holme folder ) have be still lingering

👍 I can't and won't argue that point.

In which case Point# 1 may or may not come into play

Agreed, however it appears that the Bluetooth crashing (32 times in the last 2½ days) is being caused by something more recent.
