MacBook Air M4 Freezing

I have a MacBook Air M4 running Tahoe 26.5.1 and when I'm working in Pages my laptop freezes for about ten to fifteen seconds. Sometimes the cursor will switch to the multicolored spinning circle. Anywhere from three to five minutes will pass before it happens again. Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to fix it? I can't say for certain if this happened after installing Tahoe, but I don't remember it happening on the previous software.

Before you do any other troubleshooting, you may want to try updating to 26.5.2 which was released today. May not solve anything, but could. Make sure to do a full restart after all of the update activity and restarts.

The following day, the freezing seemed better, but not gone completely. It lasted a second or two before continuing to function normally. Today, it's back to the original problem. I also noticed it happened while watching a YouTube video as well. The video froze and when it restarted the sound was cut, with distorted audio returning sporadically before cutting out again.
