MainStage 4.3 can't save concert

I discovered that I was using an mp3 file for my sample. So I converted it to a wave file and then used AUSampler. I am now able to save the file. Maybe using a wave file in Quick Sampler or Sampler would work as well.

Still waiting for an official fix but may have found a workaround:

My concerts are able to save/open as long as I dont have a quick-sampler, or sampler track anywhere in the concert. That seems to be the cause of this issue. Hope that helps!

I looked into this a bit more - with my 4.2 saved concert with ANY samplers present, the file won't save, on latest sequoia or tahoe ( I have both os'es, on MB Air 2020 and MBP M5) with Mainstage 4.3, tested same file across both computers and OS versions.

It's possible to select the concert and 'export as set' - this can be imported again. But if we adjust concert level settings they're lost. I have a somewhat minimal reproducible.

I just about made it though a 3 hour set for a (paid and contracted) gig on Saturday, but I'm stuck without being able to update and amend the work. This is a serious issue and needs to be addressed by Apple. A minor issue in the corner of some feature might be understandable but an entire concert refusing to save appears to be a rushed job, lack of test coverage during shipping of the new version. It's completely unacceptable to automatically push broken versions of products we depend on automatically, without ability to roll back to previous, working, versions.

Do better and remedy this issue with urgency.

However, if I run Concert -- Clean Up... after deleting the patch, I can once again save the file.

I ended up using AUSampler and now the file saves without the error message.

I am able to save on 4.3. Try creating a new concert and then saving it to see if the issue is something to do with your particular concert file. Best of luck!

Just popped up for me. Hoping it's a glitch they can fix. It's happening with a specific patch that contains the Q-Sampler plug-in with a custom sample that I bought for a song. The file was saving fine before I loaded that patch and now, even if I delete that patch, I get the error message.

I'm having this same issue. I had a performance on June 13th and my Mainstage concert was working fine. I have another performance coming up next week so the other day I opened up the same project to make some edits. When I went to save the project I received the error message "The document could not be saved. Try using File> Concert > Consolidate to re_collect all Sampler Instruments into the concert. " After following this instruction the error message still pops up when I go to save. From what I am reading in this forum apparently it is because I am using Quick Sampler in my project. I spent a lot of time acquiring and pitching my samples correctly. Its going to be annoying to do this again using a different plugin. Unfortunately I don't have an older version of Mainstage saved on my computer and it looks like I never set up time machine on my computer so I cant revert back to Mainstage 4.2. This is soo annoying, unnecessary and unfortunate. I have a performance next week and I need to find a fix ASAP. I might have to switch to Abelton Live.

Is anyone else having this issue. I know better than to update before vetting, but I did it. No backup. I’m unable to save my concerts. This is really critical for me…trust me, I know it’s my fault…just wondering if anyone has found a solution.

Update on this: I have officially switched to Ableton Live. It was a bit of a learning curve but I was able to recreate my Mainstage set in Ableton. There is a level of relief now that I am working with a more reliable software. I've been wanting to learn Ableton for years. This Mainstage saving issue was the perfect excuse to get me to jump ship!

Hmmmmm…I tried that. Didn’t work for me. I use QuickSampler.

My main concert has a patch with 8 Sampler plugins. It saves without issue. There is mention in some posts about "tracks"; I'm not familiar with the term. Is that different to plugins?
