IPhone 17 pro max battery health

battery health dropped to 98% only after 80 cycles count and taking a lot of care as needed. I barely use it cause I have another phone. 3 of my friends with the same phone with 180 cycles of charging or more still on 100% battery health. What is going on?

Battery Health is reported in whole number, not fractions of numbers. On average, you can expect about a 1% drop in Battery Health for every 50 cycles. But the decline is not linear, nor exact. It's highly likely your battery is at 98.9% but would only show 98%. Based on this at 80 cycles, it would not be unusual, nor something to be concerned about if you see 98%. One thing is certain, you cannot stop the decline of a batteries health. It will continue to decline with every full cycle charge. Babysitting your battery or worrying over the normal and natural decline of its health is pointless. When the day comes the health of your battery dips to 80%, which it will if you own your phone long enough, that's when you pay to have Apple replace the battery and the clock starts all over again.

The measure of battery health deterioration/drainage is subjective and can vary depending on individual usage patterns. There is no universal standard to determine whether the battery health deterioration/drainage is normal or abnormal because it heavily relies on how the battery is used and maintained.
