Apple TV and Apple Music apps on PS5 not connecting

Both Apple TV Version 1.000.038 and Apple Music Version 1.000.038 when installed on the PS5 are no longer loading or operating. The logo appears on both, then blinks and appears a second time. After about 30 seconds the message "Couldn't Connect to Apple TV. Check your internet connection and try again". With the only option to 'try again'. When pressed the waiting icon appears for another 20 seconds and the same message appears. A continuous loop.

Both worked until a week ago with no problems and then just stopped.

Unable to access either as part of my subscription as a result.

Confirm the following have been tried:

Removed App, rebooted, installed. No change.

Safe mode and forced DHCP and reboot, uninstall, re-install. No change.

Have looked on accounts for authorisation removal of PS5. Did this. Put back. No change.

I've had the same problem but just managed to fix it after weeks of tearing my hair out. I had to update my router settings and disable IPv6 on my EE hub settings. These were the instructions I followed:

How to Turn Off IPv6 on an EE Hub

  • Open a web browser on a phone or computer connected to your EE Wi-Fi.
  • Type your router address into the address bar and log in using the admin password printed on the back of your hub.
  • Go to Advanced Settings and select IPv6.
  • Under the Configuration tab, find Allocation Mode and switch it to Off.
  • Click Save and reboot your EE router and PS5.

Both Apple Music and Apple TV immediately started working again. Hope this helps.

Same issues also with EE it stoped working for both Music and TV they work fine on Xbox x I’ve tried wireless and lan tried changing gateways etc nothing logging out u name it just woke up in the outage on psn two weeks go to neither working and id bought again like another user a lot of stuff as bedbound and disabled on tv - don’t really use Xbox for streaming as laggy - I have 1.5mbit on ee and it’s definetly a ps5 to Apple issue I’ve tried using tv apps etc all fine and as my PS5 is my main source for headphones etc I’ve given up trying as I know it’s not something I’m doing. This and the constant outage with psn that I’m having to recycle to another connection or downloads of apps or games stalls few mb every few min same again same day. It doesn’t help that everywhere u look say everything is fine. I’m in the beta program for firmware on ps5 and wondering if it was the last update?

I just purchased over £200 of 4k movies from the app….. and now having exactly the same problem with the Ps5 app so I can’t watch any of them on the tv!!! The apple app for smart tv’s inexplicably has no library function.

So after a week of perfectly fine operation the app shows no signs of life and after trying everything to fix it I am left fuming. All non apple apps working fine.
