iPhone 7 freezing and Messenger sorting issues

You bought a used iPhone which was released 10 years ago in 2016. Since it is a used phone, there's no telling what you actually bought or whether after all these years, it has authentic Apple parts in it. If I were you, I'd return the phone for refund and buy either a brand new or refurbished by Apple iPhone from Apple directly.

Expecting anyone on this user to user only forum to tell you what is wrong with a heavily used and likely poorly maintained 10 year old iPhone is pretty impossible. iPhone 7 is classified as Vintage, meaning parts or service may or may not be available and in September, assuming it follows the path of previous models, it will become Obsolete making it ineligible for service in totality from Apple.

Return the phone for a refund. Nothing but problems await you if you decide to keep the phone.

For starters, whether or not Apple still has batteries for the iPhone 7....which you will need....is open to question.
