Hi,
If you have AppleCare+, water damage is treated as accidental damage. You will pay a flat service fee of $299 (plus tax) for damage to the screen/external enclosure, or $999 for other severe damage.
Without it, repair costs are highly variable depending on the machine and severity:

it would not be cheap. please visit Contact Apple for support and service to get started towards what the cost might be.
or can I put insurance on it for a monthly price?
if you mean apple care, then, no. you cannot get apple care "after the fact". you should have purchased it while the Mac was still brand new. putting apple care on a device that is already damaged, then trying to use that coverage would be fraud. and in any event, if you are still within the window to get apple care, they would inspect the Mac before allowing you to purchase apple care.
if you mean your homeowner insurance, then MAYBE they would cover it. you would need to get ahold of your insurance company.

Time for a new computer. Water damage can be extensive and ongoing due to corrosion. No you can not get insurance after the fact.

You cannot retroactively put insurance on it, and then use that insurance to pay for repairing the water damage.
You can not add insurance after the fact. That would be fraud.
Like buying a life insurance policy on someone who is already dead.
