Find My is usually active.

If you mean Find My started trying to locate your Mac, that would be triggered from your Apple Account, or from Family Sharing if you’re part of a group.

If your Apple Account might have been hacked, you’re in trouble, try changing your password and enabling two-factor authentication if not already.
