iMac 2020 27-inch: Window resizing reverts after quitting

Window resizing still an issues with 26.6. It still reverts to original tiny size after using and quitting. I hoped this would be fixed before now. Yes I have tried the fixes mentioned already but Apple must think this is a feature if they can't figure out how to fix it by now. On a positive note it seems they have fixed the up next list when viewing in full screen.

IMPORTANT: Back up your Mac to and external hard drive with Time Machine Backup prior to performing this. That way, you can have something to restore it from, should anything go wrong afterwards.

Generally speaking, when I have trouble with window sizing on the Mac, which is rarely, I find I can overcome the problem by resizing and repositioning the window.

Drag the corner or edge handle to resize the window. Then reposition the window up, down or sideways just a bit. Finally, close the window with the red 'close' button in the corner then reopen the window or quit the app and reopen it. Typically this does the trick for me.

EDIT -

You might see if the problem happens in safe mode.  Safe mode will often correct weird software behavior by forcing the OS to clear caches, do disk repair and other self-maintenance and housekeeping and temporarily disables third-party mods.

How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Use your Mac in safe mode for a little while and then exit safe mode by restarting your Mac normally and reevaluate the problem.
