Siri not responding from a distance after updating to iOS 26.6

After updating my iPhone 16 Pro to iOS 26.6, Siri is not working properly. It only responds when I hold the phone right next to my face, but stops picking up my voice from an arm's length away or further. I’ve already tried restarting the device and resetting "Hey Siri" setup, but nothing has resolved it. Is anyone else facing this issue?

Try these solutions one at a time in this order:

  1. Turn your iPhone completely off and back on to reload the audio drivers and system processes dedicated to Siri.
  2. Go to Settings > Siri (or Apple Intelligence & Siri). Completely turn off voice activation, restart your device, and turn it back on by following the setup assistant to recalibrate your voice.
  3. Make sure the iPhone 16 Pro microphones (front, bottom, and rear) are not blocked by cases, screen protectors, or dust buildup.
  4. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset, and select Reset All Settings (this option does not delete personal data but resets system preferences).
