How to correct birth date or delete a child Apple Account with an incorrect DOB?

I accidentally entered the date of birth as 2015 instead of 2005 when creating a child Apple Account. Now the account is treated as an 11-year-old child, and I cannot remove it from Family Sharing or change the birth date. Please help me correct the birth date or delete the child account.

Did you just create this account? If so, I agree with Chattanoogan that the easiest thing is to start over.

However, if this is an older account that has been used for a while and you're just now noticing the mistake, see the information here:

You should be able to change it yourself if the account is part of a Family Sharing group.

Why are you creating a “child” account for an individual who is at least 20 years old? (i.e. having a 2005 birth-year)

You’ll certainly find it easier to simply create a new account — with the correct birthday — and delete the 2015 account once that “child” ages-out in a couple of years.

However, if you feel compelled to “joust at the windmill” over the erroneously-created “child account” you’ll need to contact Official Apple Support

Best of luck.
