Sharing Contacts from iMessage without leaving iMessage

How come I can't share a contact right from the message I'm typing? Instead, I have to leave my conversation. Find the contact, share the contact, and then find the person I was talking to to share the contact.

Why can't Apple just add "contacts" to the + section in the messaging app?
