Wallpaper settings window not auto-switching monitors

Ok, I need to issue a clarification! I was testing without a second display on both machines, but now I connected an external display, and here are my findings:

1) In Tahoe, everything works as you ask for. Moving the System Settings window from one display to the other switches the Wallpaper to that display, and switching between Spaces also changes the Wallpaper window to the relevant Space.

2) In Sequoia, it changes according to the Space it is, but it does NOT automatically change the display.

I use dual displays in Extended Desktop mode with my Mac mini's, but have never been a big fan of Mission Control Spaces. I have Spaces disabled and have it setup, so that certain app windows open on the Main display and others open on the Extended display.

If you are hooked on using Spaces across dual display, then test the following settings.

1) Go to the Desktop & Dock Settings > Mission Control, turn Off "Automatically rearrange Spaces based on most recent use" and make sure that "Displays have separate Spaces" is On.

2) Then go to the Wallpaper Settings and turn Off "Show on all Spaces" and set the preferred Wallpaper for each of the displays.

I am running Tahoe, but have just tested in Sequoia on my wife's Mac, and it works exactly the same way - showing the wallpaper for whatever Space it is currently on.

There may be some corrupted plist file, but I can't determine which one.

You may confirm if this is the case by testing in a new user account. If things work normally there, you will know that the issue is with some setting specific to your normal account.

AFAICT, that is exactly how the Wallpaper window works...

The choice reflects the Space you are in, and so does any change that I make.

How is it (not) working for you?

And... just in case you missed it: make sure that "Show in All Spaces" is OFF!

If not, then a change you make will apply to all Spaces at once, and thus defeat the capability to have different wallpapers.
