Access Contact Card in Calendar without INVITES - any way?
is there a way.... add contact card to calendar event without sending invite.
MULTIPLE use (exploding issue) cases...
First - I have busy days - with SOFT meeting times (think time slots, due to prior claim) - thereby sending an invite with FIRM times is completely asking for trouble. He said between x and y, but then sent me an invite with the firm time of X and then didn't show on-time...
Second - I do billing and time allocations on the calendar - certainly do not think anyone wants to get an invite to this: "Fire chief review; Sharon station 26" - especially when it has information that should NOT be shared with the claimant in the calendar listing. Worse, if I edit the original entry from say 11am to 130pm - and then edit for actual; say 1125a-215p - I'd assume it would update the invitee - again, just asking for trouble - especially since this includes the time I'm working on the project - but I may drive away and spend an hour or two reviewing and writing reports/labeling photos away from the business/residence... It would be great to get a call "Hey, why are you claiming to have been here for 3 hours when you left an hour and fifteen minutes later - this looks like fraud"...
Third - I get 300 emails a day now - I don't need more, and my poor clients are bombarded with AI slop from the carriers and administrators already ***- they most certainly do not need another from my calendar - especially when it doesn't do time slots nicely...
I assume you can see why this is an issue. I have 24,000 contacts - every person I see (couple a day) gets entered when received - thereby if they ever call - they are amazed I answer the phone - 'hello Mr Jones'...
Before anyone jumps on the use SIRI - I drive >100K per year - in a pickup truck with ladders and equipment - its NOT a quiet environment - and SIRI has issues once you get to about 2000 contacts. Pulling off to the side of the road is NOT an option - some of these calls are >20 mins and I'm on a tight schedule. Thereby I prefer to receive my assignment - create a contact card, drag the mail to the calendar and create a time slot, then somehow add the contact card to the calendar listing... Then I'm in the Calendar app while driving - it's simple. I have a daily summary NOTES with a IFTTT which allows posting post call easily.
I certainly hope Apple - in its transition to more business oriented - can see the value of ALLOWING a user to turn off automated features like the invite - as for me it's a deal breaker.
If anyone knows a way to add the card easily (drop and drag always preferred - often on iPad Pro or even the phone) - would be appreciated.
Topic is covered in the threads of the support about once a year - so figured I'd see if there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon?
