Mac Studio/mini on/off switch placement & remote
I have been an apple user since early 90's. I have seen and experienced a lot of Apple changes. Of all the apple products I own the worst product idea is on the Mac Studio and Mac mini placement of the on/off switch. This is absolutely the dumbest place to put a switch. On the back! really- I thought that I could adapt to my not so new any more M2 studio. Sitting on a desk within arms reach... Passible. Now in my studio on my DAW console_ this is a real pain! Maybe an On/Off remote switch would be useful. The purpose of the console it to organize equipment, not so easy with the Studio.
This switch needs to be in front or on the top in front. What about putting the switch on the Mac Studio monitor. I thought I would be upgrading to the new M5 studio but not like this.
Anyone have any ideas on turning the M2 and Monitor remotely? I have resorted to leaving the system on in sleep mode.
So here imho are my ideas (no charge)
- Put the on/off control on the keyboard.
- Put the on/off in a ir remote control. (imagine having to turn you wall mounted tv off like this)
- Put the on/off on the front face of the studio
- Put the on/off back in the system so it can be programmed to off and on natively.
Sometimes engineers come up with great ideas but bean counters over rule them and sometime it's the other around. They (engineers) had to have thought of these.
Okay rant over!
