Cannot sign in to Apple Music app on Windows 11

Hello, I'm having an issue with the Apple Music app on Windows 11 Home. It won't let me sign in, even though I can sign in without any problems on iTunes or the iCloud app. I've tried everything, but I still can't access Apple Music. Please, if you could help me—I've tried everything, including changing my Apple ID password, but nothing works and I don't know what else to do

Windows, Windows 11 (26200)

If the native Apple Music app on Windows 11 blocks your login while iTunes and iCloud work fine, the issue usually stems from corrupted Microsoft Store app data, background helper components like Bonjour conflicting with newer packages, or a stalled authorization token unique to the standalone modern app.

Repair or Reset the App

  • Open Windows Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
  • Find Apple Music, click the three dots (...), and select Advanced options.
  • Click Repair. If that fails, click Reset (note that this clears local app data).

With the app closed, check Task Manager for any instances of an "AMPLibraryAgent" process and kill them. Usually available if the Apple music app is active.

Go to the File Explorer, and navigate to the Music\Apple Music folder which contains your library. Out of the Music folder, I'd recommend moving/renaming the folder rather than deleting it.

Login should work after this.

I have had this problem for a while now after temporarily not having a subscription and then resubscribing, but I have finally found a fix now. I opened File Explorer, went to Music and renamed the "Apple Music" folder. I opened Settings > Apps > Installed apps > Apple Music > Advanced options and used the repair feature. I reopened Apple Music and signed in, but this time it actually worked and loaded up my library. I then deleted the folder I had renamed, as it will create a new folder (the original named "Apple Music") when you repair, and this folder should have your music library and other information.

Hopefully this works for other people!

This is the dumbest bug ever. I installed Apple Music on my work Mac like 3 months ago had login loop after login loop, upgraded to their beta and it was fine. Moved to a Windows ARM device and it worked fine. Now I finally bothered to install it on my desktop, rather than using the web player (which works fine but cant play my iTunes music) and it doesn't work again.

Read some of the replies so I figured I'll just connect my VPN and go to USA, Boston was first in the list, connected and logged in fine. There must be some DNS entries that are borked somewhere when routing from outside the US. Terrible user experience.

This is 1000% Apple's f-up.

The Windows app hasn't even been updated and it's the same on both the Apple Music and iTunes apps.

For years, it would force me to log in 2-3 times for each session to listen to music each time I logged in from my PC.

Now both apps just take your username and password and just sit there, dead, with 0 errors or reactions.

Reset and uninstalled and reinstalled, nothing works.

Some people on Reddit said it only works if you use a VPN to US but my Apple Music subscription is not even US-based.

Billion-dollar company btw, ladies and gentlemen!

This worked for me, too, after wasting hours on different computers, different places and both Itunes and Apple Music (that really was a last resort). I don't even use a VPN normally but like you say, UK one didn't work - it had to be a US based one. Apple need to put this on the Itunes help forums, too, rather than the pointless advice that is there at the moment. Thanks.

Same issue, tried all the above, the automated help made uninstall VNP restart router PC but to no avail, don't think they have an answer support just strings you along till you give up.

Wonder if Apple will be refunding me my subscription, as i only use apple music on my desktop to find new music, use my library on my iPhone.

for what you pay for apple device and services this is pretty pore support
