If it was installed by unauthorized service provider with a non sanctioned part, the Trade In may not be possible, but you will need to take it into an Apple Store to make sure.

If the Settings App in the iPhone states that the battery is an unidentified part, they may not accept it for trade in.

But again, the Apple Store is the place to get that determined. We cannot guarantee either outcome in these user to user forums.

If the battery was installed by anyone other than Apple or an Apple Authorized Service provider, it will not be accepted in trade with Apple. You can certainly ask, but they will test the phone when you try to trade it and it the diagnostics validate it has 3rd party parts installed, they won't take it in trade, but they will offer to recycle it for free.

I had a friend ignore my advice and went to some iFixit shop to have the battery replaced in his phone. I told him it wouldn't be accepted by Apple in trade and he didn't believe me. When he tried to trade it, diagnostics were run and all they offered was to recycle the phone.

Are you wanting to trade-in an iPhone whose battery has been replaced, for a discount on the purchase of a new one? If so, yes this is possible.

Not entirely sure what you meany by the battery being "parallel" though.

If you mean something else, then please clarify.
