Ancient ITunes nickname needs an update, cannot fix due to former inaccessible email address.

Hi community. When ITunes first came out, circa 2009, I used only a desktop that is long gone, to create an ITunes account, and I have an original "nickname" I created, that is still in play when I want to leave a review on now 2026 ITunes/Apple podcasts. That nickname is not private, and yet I cannot find, using my newer IPad, and going onto every Apple app and "help page" a way to update this nickname. An old, not able to access email keeps popping up, it was via a cable company in a state where I no longer live, so I cannot "use" that originally used email set up for my "very first" iTunes chapter. I see now why everyone says iTunes isn't user friendly. Can anyone suggest a way without completely going back to Amazon Music/podcasts to correct this? Thanks all.

To update your ancient review nickname without dealing with your inaccessible 2009 cable-company email address, you can change it directly via an iOS/iPadOS device by editing an active review prompt, or by logging into a desktop computer. Apple does not expose the standalone nickname field in normal iPad account settings.

Try this

Open the App Store or Apple Podcasts app on your iPad.

Tap your Profile Picture/Account Icon in the top corner.

Find an app or podcast where you can select Write a Review (or tap an existing review if visible).

Look at the bottom of the review box area for Nickname: [Your Old Name] >.

Tap the arrow next to your nickname, type your new name, and save it.
