HomePods randomly play music on their own when paired with Apple TV 4K

I have an Apple TV 4K setup, with two HomePods paired in stereo. The HomePods regularly start playing music on their own, even though I haven’t got anything playing. This happens completely at random, sometimes even at night. I’ve already performed a full factory reset on the two HomePods and the Apple TV 4K

Tell us which model of HomePod this is. If it’s the GEN two, this might be a touch panel failure.

To test: Unpair HomePods, then unplug one so it can’t be used and see how it goes for a day or two. If this continues, plug that one back in and unplug the other one.

Many thanks for your quick reply. The HomePods are Gen 2. I am going to test them the way you suggested.
