How to share read-only Google Calendar with iCloud Calendar and vice versa?

sharing (read only) a Google Calendar with someones iCloud calendar and vice versa

we have this situation:

our company has worked for years with google agenda. This works seamless on Mac, pc, iPhone and other.

'what is the problem?' you might say?

I want to reduce the google experience on our devices.

In our company we work with apple. and that works well

Our team-members share their availability with us through their personal agenda (read only), which is, for lack of anything better google.

We from our site want to share an agenda (also read only). So that would then become iCloud to google

I cannot seem to find an easy way to get this done.

Is this at all possible??

Yes, this is absolutely possible. You can share calendars between Google and iCloud in both directions as read-only feeds. This is done using a universal link (ics)

Get the link from Google:

  • Open google calendar on a computer.
  • Next to the calendar, click the three dots and choose Settings and sharing.
  • Scroll all the way down to the Integrate calendar section.
  • Copy the URL under Secret address in iCal format. This is a private link ending in .ics.

Add it to iCloud/Apple:

  • Open the Calendar app on a Mac.
  • In the top menu bar, click File > New Calendar Subscription...
  • Paste the copied .ics link and click Subscribe.
  • Change the 'Location' setting to iCloud. This ensures it automatically syncs to your iPhone and iPad.
  • Set the 'Auto-refresh' interval to Every hour to keep it updated.
