Anyone else having issues with iPhone not charging in the car?

My iPhone 14 Pro Max suddenly won’t charge in my car but will at home. I’ve had other iPhone users test their phones with the cables in my car and they charge fine. I’ve tried new Apple-specific charging cords and nothing. The phone is three years old.

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 26

Our own auto manufacturer installed the absolute “bare minimum” USB-C ports. (No USB-PD voltage step increases)

It simply can not keep up w/ the power demands of navigation of our 14PM and 16e.

If the OP’s iPhone still has it’s original battery; it might explain why this issue has “just now” seemingly arisen.

Our own solution:

I’m sure there are other users who have had a similar problem with 1.5 billion iPhones in use, but how does that help you address your problem.

How old is the car, and what is the rating of the port you are using? An iPhone 14 PM “wants” at least 10 watts or 2 amps. Have the test phones used the same port or a different port in the car?
