Problems using New York State Mobile ID app on iPhone ?

I believe that the OP is talking about a dedicated state ID app.

New York State – Department of Motor Vehicles – Mobile ID (MiD)

"MiD allows New York State residents to manage your identity like never before. It is a secure, digital version of your state-issued driver license, permit or non-driver ID, carried in an app on your smartphone. The MiD app is free and optional for New York residents to download."

It is quite likely that New York State's mobile ID system is not integrated with Apple Wallet (or with Google Wallet) – that you must use the dedicated app to access your mobile ID. I would suggest that the OP read the pages on the New York State site (the one behind the "License, ID, and Permit Holders" button has a lot of details). There's also Apple's generic advice:

It doesn't appear NY State, participates with Apple to use a state issued ID's, per this link --> https://learn.wallet.apple/id#states-list

That would certainly make it problematic to do so.

Thanks. I completely missed they were referring to a specific app. Florida neither has an App, nor permit adding our drivers licenses to Apple Wallet. Our elected official are too busy to do much to support the people who voted for them. 😈
