Norton appearing on my MacAir
I have a MacBook Air, bought in May 2026, macOS Tahoe 26.5.2. I clicked on a web page in Google Search today and a new page opened called SafeWeb. The message said 'Dangerous web page blocked. This is a known dangerous webpage. It is highly recommended that you do NOT visit this page.' It also said on the page that it is blocked by Norton.
In the address bar it says Norton Safe Web then 'chrome-extension://fnpbeacklnhmkkilekogeiekaglbmmka/content/ui/blockedPage.html?originalURL=https://blackjacktrailerjacks.com.au'
I have opened the blackjack trailer jacks webpage on my iPad and iPhone with no problems
I don't have Norton installed on my MacAir.
In Google Chrome I clicked the three dots in the top right corner, selected Settings, clicked on Privacy and Security, selected Site Settings, clicked on Notifications under Permissions. I looked at Allowed to send notifications and there is Norton Password Manager and Norton Safe Web.
Also when I go to fill in passwords on other sites Norton Password Manager makes suggestions for passwords - which I don't use.
I have Norton installed on my Windows laptop. I'm thinking that Password Manager and Safe Web somehow came across to my Mac when I installed Google Chrome. Is this possible???
How do I get Password Manager and Safe Web off my Mac?
Sorry this is long winded!!! I hope someone can help me.
