iPhone cannot join the net -“connect to the Internet” appears when trying to use AppleHelp or other apps

WiFi and Cellular Data connections seem normal, all slider green, WiFi sign on screen, the provider with the blue check.

Location Services and FindMyphone cannot function - they are on, but there is an overall gray layer over the switch, cannot be moved left/right

Calling/receiving calls is possible, but nothing appears in

the incoming/outcoming calls list.

SMS - receives only from the carrier.

Te phone is up to date.

By the way, the iPhone literally heats up rapidly when switching on WiFi or Cellular network.

First try a force restart as follows:

If that doesn't cure it, try a restore.

Wi-Fi Assist is on by default. This will automatically switch to Cellular Data if the device is not connected to the internet.
