Setting up a new external webcam on PowerBook M1 2015

How do I set up a new external webcam? I have a PowerBook M1 2015, operating on Tahoe 26.6.1. (Update to Tahoe 26.6.2 will be installed tonight).

I have just been given a new Logitech ultra-wide webcam. What do I need to do to

install it. And where?

I need Zoom to be able to find and use it.

Of course...Don't know why I slipped into the old name. I didn't even have a laptop until 2015. This is my first one. The Apple Business team in Adelaide talked me into it, saying they thought it would be best for me in my business, which at times involved a lot of long-distance travel. And still does, but not nearly as much or as regularly since we moved interstate to the city after living in a remote rural area. I'm not needing to travel to farms or the city any longer.

I wouldn't be without it now. Initially, having had a 27" desktop Mac for many years and choosing a laptop I could pay in cash – ie a 13" MacBook Pro, was quite the contrast. And challenging. But buying a large external screen solved that issue beautifully.

Thank you for all the advice and steps about setting up a Logitech webcam. I'll go through them one by one.

Many thanks. I'll have it set up in time for my next Zoom. Fortunately, the host postponed last night's Zoom meeting. It will be great to have Zoom on the large screen next week, and on all other occassions, without having to set up the stand for my laptop every time. Particularly when I'm hosting webinars or running online coaching courses.

Thank you again.
