Returning to original desktop screen after replacing it twice

i hit control 2 a while ago and my desktop screen changed. I followed the entry for returning it and it didn’t work! So then I replaced that screen with another!!!! So I have now replaced the original screen twice! I want it back!!!

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14

Sounds like you may have invoked a second or even third desktop (multiple spaces) by means of Mission Control.

Control-2 would be one way to get to a different space. Control-1 would likely get you back to the original.

On macOS Mojave, press Control–Up Arrow to open Mission Control.


The desktops or Spaces you have available will appear along the top.


Click each one to see whether your original desktop is there. (Apple Support)


You can also try Control–Left Arrow and Control–Right Arrow to move between Spaces. (Apple Support)
