Then no, that isn’t the device, it’s a service, probably your Apple account. You might post a screen shot to better identify it, however. If it is, the easiest solution is setting up multifactor authentication.

Well, you have to have a valid payment method on your Apple account.

It doesn't matter whether you buy anything or not.

2 factor authentication is also a good thing even though you have nothing to lose.

FYI, I have them since 2008.

To assess your risk go to https://haveibeenpwned.com If you enter your user names and email address it will tell you if you exist on the dark web. If you do click on Passwords and enter your password or passwords to see how many of your passwords have been compromised.

That’s because you are already logged in to Google, and have Google’s 2 factor authentication or passkey enabled.

I am guessing it wants to force me into two factor identification. Unlike many other people, I have NOTHING of interest on my devices for a hacker. Believe it or not, security is there to protect APPLE, as well as you. If you had a loss because your security was week you might want to sue Apple. And the same is true for Google and any other business you deal with.

Your iPad knows your name, your phone number, email address, where you live, and where you go and who sends you emails and messages: that's enough info to set up a pretty good social engineering attack on you. It knows your WiFi passwords (and shows them in plain text depending on your setup) - so that's an attack vector into your home network. That's just the start assuming a basic setup and ignoring internet history, socials, wallet spend, etc.

I'm sure you know all this and are being contrary cos you're annoyed, but if you don't then you should learn about it because the most likely way you'll get scammed in today's world is with a social engineering attack.

A simple password is trivial to hack. All someone needs is your email address and a relatively fast computer and they can have your password in minutes.

I should add using the information about you on the Dark Web.

A little clarification: what EXACTLY are you being asked to log into? The devices (iPad and AppleTV)? That should be easy enough to fix. A specific service? Which ones?

If you actually log in rather than clicking Not Now it won’t ask again.
