NTFS is a drive format not a file type.

Files themselves should be readable directly on Tahoe in the appropriates apps even if stored on an NTFS formatted drive.

If what you mean is you have a hard drive, SSD or thumb drive, that is formatted as NTFS and want to read and write files to it from macOS Tahoe then you will need an NTFS driver for that such as Paragon or Tuxera, or copy the files off the drive, and format it as something the Mac can write to and copy the files back onto it.

If you are planning on using said external SSD with Windows and Mac at the same time, you best bet is to format it as exFAT on a Windows PC.

If you have an NTFS-formatted drive and you want to use that with both Windows and Mac computers for read/write going forward, then you will need software like Paragon:

If you only want to move the files off the drive or read the drive, you do not need additional software since macOS can natively read NTFS drives (but not write to them).

Personally, if you're going to use a drive with Win and Mac, then I'd recommend formatting it as ExFAT. You can do that on the Windows side or on macOS with Disk Utility.
