Unable to send photos on iPhone after iOS 26.6.2 update

I am new to Apple. I use my phone primarily for business. I manage homes for people who do not live in this area full time. Things happen to their homes. I need to take photos and send them so that they can see the issues and we can get things taken care of. When I first changed to the Apple phone I was able to send photos, When I tried to send photos today, there was not a "send" icon on the screen. I tried three times. According to Microsoft A-1, there is a recent software update which arrived on my phone and it explains that it fixes an issue that prevents downloading a software update over a cellular connection, which has nothing to do with photos. However, A-1 referred me to other Apple phone owners who just lost their ability to send photos, which they were able to do prior to iOS 26.6.2. This has arrived on my phone, but I have not hit the UPDATE NOW yet. Short and sweet - I just want to send photos to my homeowners. That is my job.

You haven't told us what you mean by "send Photos." I'm not sure what you mean about a "send" icon. Are you sending this picture by email or by text, or what?

In email, I use the paperclip "attach" icon, select Photos Library, and select a picture. Then I hit the "up arrow" which asks what size I want to send. Then the email is sent. Is that what you do? If so, at what point does it differ?

Or do you go to Photos, choose a picture, and select the Share icon? If so, are you selecting Mail or Text? What happens, exactly?

Do you get any sort of error message, like " can't find server," or something? Have you tried turning off wifi and relying on cellular?

I suggest you update to iOS 26.6.2 first.

That's great! I doubt that the problem was the iOS version, but updating reset things that had gotten disrupted.

In the future, when crazy stuff happens, try a forced re-start:

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

(Quickly press and release volume up, volume down, then press and hold power until the logo appears.)

This is different from a simple Power Off. For me, the logo appears 5 or 10 seconds past the "slide to power off" message. Wait for the logo; don't do the slide thing.

Thanks for your help. Finished update and photos went. Thanks for paper clip hint. I send from camera to email for business. Am from Android phones and their icons are different from Apple. I will now try both ways you suggest. Looking forward to no more Google. Love their browser but they should not have gotten into phones. Thanks again.
