Hi bhumika213,
Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Community!
To help narrow this down, does your Mac currently say "Not Charging"?
If the battery in your Mac laptop won’t charge, here are a few solutions you can try:
Check your software and settings Your Mac might not be charging due to high performance demands, software issues, or Battery Health settings.
- Reduce battery drain: Your computer may be using more power than the power source can provide. High-performance apps, like video editing software or games, can drain the battery quickly. Connected devices and high brightness can also contribute.
- Update macOS: Software or firmware updates can sometimes improve communication with your power adapter.
- Reset the SMC: The System Management Controller (SMC) manages how your Mac handles power. If you have a Mac with Apple silicon, simply restart your computer. For Intel-based Macs, you can reset the SMC.
- Adjust battery health features: It’s normal for your Mac to stop charging before reaching 100% to optimize battery lifespan. You can adjust these preferences in your Battery settings.
