To help narrow this down, does your Mac currently say "Not Charging"?

If the battery in your Mac laptop won’t charge, here are a few solutions you can try:

Check your software and settings Your Mac might not be charging due to high performance demands, software issues, or Battery Health settings.

• Reduce battery drain: Your computer may be using more power than the power source can provide. High-performance apps, like video editing software or games, can drain the battery quickly. Connected devices and high brightness can also contribute.

• Update macOS: Software or firmware updates can sometimes improve communication with your power adapter.

• Reset the SMC: The System Management Controller (SMC) manages how your Mac handles power. If you have a Mac with Apple silicon, simply restart your computer. For Intel-based Macs, you can reset the SMC.

• Adjust battery health features: It’s normal for your Mac to stop charging before reaching 100% to optimize battery lifespan. You can adjust these preferences in your Battery settings.
