Everything I type is typing in reverse, for example if I were to type 'grass' it appears 'ssrag' - Wildly frustrating, I have looked up similar problems & their usual response of "CTRL,SHIFT, LEFT ARROW" doesn't work... Thankfully the issue is only in Apple Numbers (otherwise this would have taken me house to type)
Agreed - this sounds like Numbers is configured to use a language that uses right-to-left structures.
Check File -> Advanced -> Language & Region and check what the settings are.
It would also be useful to know if this is a specific document, or all documents (including new ones).

It was effecting only one specific document but it is an issue I have had historically too. I can only assume the document itself had an error of some kind as the only way to close it was to force quit, but there was no error message displayed. It really was quite odd.
My solve was to copy the contents of the document into a new save file and have had no issues since, thankfully.

Apple does inherently support Right-to-Left writing systems used for Turkish, Arabic, and Hebrew.
¿Is it possible that was somehow invoked in that document or in Numbers.app?
Anything typed in Numbers App is typing backwards 😤
