YouTube not working after updating to Safari 27.0

Today I updated to Safari 27.0, and now YouTube won't work. The page loads, but when I click on a video either nothing happens, or it tries to play the video but never does. I've restarted and cleared cache, but still no luck. I'm using MacOS 15.8 on MacBook Air 2020 (Intel).

Any tips on how to fix this?

I've submitted feedback to Apple.

Same here ! Safari 27 MacOS 15.8 on MacBook Air 2020 (Intel). I can not watch videos on Youtube.

I think the problem is MacBook Air 2020 (Intel) itself.

I’ve never seen another model with so many issues (especially fan problems and overheating).

We had no way of knowing this when we bought it.

I still can’t understand why they haven’t recalled this model and given us a computer with an Apple chip.

Well, I updated to Sequoia 15.8.1 today hoping that Apple had taken notice and offered a resolution to the self induced problem with Youtube ........ result : Negative, You Tube still locks up and refuses to refresh. Any suggestions that my configuration could be the cause. of the problem does not take into account that the machine worked just fine and dandy before Apple inflicted the update upon us, therefore it would appear to be an Apple problem and up to Apple to resolve it. Otherwise, will Apple provide us all with replacement machines that work? That will obviously be a huge NO.

This entire problem for legions of hitherto Mac / Apple enthusiasts is a classic demonstration of 21st century Corporate Arrogance. Apple created the problem and now ignore it perhaps in the hope that we will all abandon the Intel driven Mac Book Air. Maybe Apple would prefer that we all went backwards to Microsoft? Personally speaking, after more than 20 years of Apple laptops I am seriously considering alternatives, due entirely to the utterly disgraceful lack of support shown to loyal supporters, not to mention the several £K spent on Apple products over the years.
