Siri on Apple Watch cannot set timers or alarms after WatchOS 27 update

I have Apple Watch Series 11 (GPS) and iPhone 17. Both have just been updated to IOS and Watch OS 27. Previously I could lift my watch to my face and ask it to set a timer or alarm for a specified time. After the upgrade to IOS/Watch OS 27, Siri spins a bit and then tells me it can't complete the request because the clock app is not on the device, even though it is. I can set the timer or alarm manually by going to the timer/alarm apps but not via Siri now. Anyone have similar experience? Thoughts on how to resolve? I have done a reset of the watch, but no change.

That isn’t expected behavior. Apple’s watchOS 27 guide still lists setting alarms and timers with Siri as supported. → Take action with Siri on Apple Watch - Apple Support

Since the Timer and Alarms apps work manually, I’d try resetting Siri rather than the Watch again. On the iPhone go to Settings > Siri (or Apple Intelligence & Siri) > Talk & Type to Siri, turn Siri off, then turn it back on. Restart both devices afterward. Apple specifically recommends that step when Siri isn’t working properly on Apple Watch. → If Siri isn't working on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Also try the same “set a timer” request directly on the iPhone. If it works there but the Watch still says the Clock app isn’t installed, that points more toward a watchOS 27/Siri issue. I wouldn’t erase or unpair the Watch again at this point.

Ditto. Mine was working fine in ios 27, but since 27.1 the timers or even requesting a 10 minute indoor walk doesn’t work. If I finally get it to work, I’ll request a 5 minute countdown, and Siri spins for 30 seconds so I have to request a shorter countdown to offset the death spin. What the heck apple. I guess it’s back to normal Siri and Gemini.

I was on Siri beta and I've had the problem with no timers or no alarms on Apple Watch.
I went and turned off Siri and then turned it back on and I changed back to Siri Classic vs. Siri Beta and the timer and alarms on watch now works again.
I don't know if it was Siri Beta or the turning Siri off and on that worked.

I'm using Siri AI beta and watchOS 27.0.1. I have no problems setting timers with Siri.

Well, about 20 minutes later the Stocks option reappeared. Weird. All is well again. Thanks again.

Yes, it sometimes takes a litle bit after a re-pair for everything to load again. When I restored my new Watch from my old watch backup, it awhile for some of my Infographic complications to show up again.

Glad you got it working.
