HMRC App no longer working after Golden Gate 27.0 upgrade

I have a Macbook Neo and just upgraded to Golden Gate 27.0 and now my HMRC Basic Payroll RTI app will not open at all. It said it quit unexpectedly so I installed Rosetta and now it tries to open but then says the application encountered an error in the startup process. The logs may contain more details. Anyone else had this, or knows how to fix it? Thank you

I have now contacted Apple who pointed out that on the HMRC it doesn’t list Golden Gate as a support operating system & they said to contact HMRC. I contacted HMRC and they confirmed this is the case & said they were working to get a fix but didn’t think it would be anytime soon. Their suggestion is to download the software to a different machine that doesn’t have Golden Gate & transfer the backup file there. Luckily I have a very helpful accountant who is going to help me out!

I had clicked the Backup button on the app home page last month and saved it with a name that I could locate in our August file. I emailed this to another family member. They opened it using their iCloud and saved the file to their computer. Then after installing the latest app on their computer, we pressed the Restore button on the app homepage and selected the said file. It looked hesitant to start with but then it did load and everything was there thankfully. We didn't need to add business name etc beforehand

I'll copy the backup I have and restore, thanks. Unfortunately my old laptop is too old for the current RTI software so I'm going to create a 26.6.2 bootable drive, install RTI and the backup on there. Hopefully that works tonight until they release a fix. I see in their notes they have that they know Golden Gate isn't compatible and say it will be fixed but no date given

Fortunately I had remembered to do a backup after last months wages (I haven't always) and another member of the family has a Microsoft laptop......so we did manage to set up the app on the other machine, transfer the backup to their iCloud and then open the file and restore the backup to that computer from the restore feature on the app homepage. We will ensure backups are done every month in future, I don't know what we would have done if we hadn't got the back up.
