Transcribing meetings using a Neo

I have a Neo and was shown a facility to transcribe meeting discussions when I bought it recently. I can't now find the facility. Your help would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi,

You can transcribe meetings on a MacBook (including using built-in Apple tools or third-party apps) directly through your system audio or microphone.

1. Built-in Method: Apple Notes App

You can record and transcribe meetings natively without downloading extra software.

  • Open Notes: Launch the Notes app on your Mac.
  • Start Recording: Create a new note, click the attachment/media button, and select Record Audio.
  • View Transcript: Once finished, double-click the audio recording in the note to open and read the generated text.
  • Summarize: If your device supports Apple Intelligence, you can generate an instant summary of the meeting notes.

2. Third-Party App: MacWhisper

For higher accuracy, local processing, and speaker labeling, specialized AI tools work best.

  • Download MacWhisper: Install the app from MacWhisper.
  • Record or Import: Use live recording, drag-and-drop audio files, or capture app audio (Pro feature) from virtual meetings like Zoom or Google Meet.
  • Edit and Export: Use the built-in editor to clean up text, manage speakers, or export your transcripts
